The Color by Model Item options have two primary purposes. The first and most common purpose, is to display components, groups, assemblies, display sets, joints and ply drops with unique colors (based on their ID). This allows you to view the organization of the FEM and navigate through the project. The second purpose is to display computed results by grouping like data into individual components, assemblies or display sets.
